The bulky gas cylinder used by some other swing arms, which has a tendency to fail, has been swapped out for a more reliable and long-lived mechanical spring. And although the M2 is only made from 52% recycled material, the sum of its parts is 99% recyclable, and on top of that it's built to last--Humanscale's offering a 15-year warranty. Best of all, I can look at it and appreciate its looks without being interrupted by that drilling noise.
